                          Barley Grass

                          Picture
Barley grass (Hordeum vulgare) is the seedling of the barley plant. Large amounts of vitamins and minerals are found in its leaves. These include potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, copper, phosphorus, manganese, zinc, beta carotene, B1, B2, B6, C, folic acid, and pantothenic acid. Barley grass is said to have 30 times more vitamin B1 and 11 times the amount of calcium than there is in cow's milk, 6.5 times as much carotene and nearly 5 times the iron content of spinach, close to seven times the vitamin C in oranges, four times the vitamin B1 in whole wheat flour, and 80 micrograms of vitamin B12 per 100 grams of dried barley plant juice.

Barley grass is a powerful antioxidant that is believed to help the body kill cancer cells and overcome a variety of ailments, including acne and ulcers by promoting the growth of new cells. Barley grass is high in chlorophyll, an antibacterial green pigment. Barley grass has one of the highest natural levels of enzyme SOD (superoxide dismutase), which is a powerful antioxidant that protects the cells against toxic free radicals, thought to be a primary culprit in aging.

Barley grass is very high in organic sodium, which dissolves calcium deposited on the joints and also replenishes organic sodium in the lining of the stomach.

Barley grass, at the time it is harvested to make juice, is about 45 percent protein. It has almost twice as much protein as an equivalent amount of wheat germ and about five times the minerals which accompany animal protein, in addition the protein in barley grass doesn't come burdened with fat.

                          Spirulina

                          Picture
Spirulina contains an unusually high amount of protein, between 55% and 77% by dry weight. It is a complete protein containing all essential amino acids. It is superior to typical plant protein, such as that from legumes.

Spirulina contains vitamin B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (nicotinamide), B6 (pyridoxine), B9 (folic acid), vitamin C, vitamin D, and vitamin E. A one gram tablet of Spirulina could provide more than three times the recommended daily intake of B12.

Spirulina is a rich source of potassium, and also contains calcium, chromium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, selenium, sodium, and zinc.

Regular usage of Spirulina can lower cholesterol, increase HDL cholesterol, lower triglycerides and lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Spirulina has also been found to be clinically effective against allergic rhinitis, a condition that can lead to chronic sinusitis.

                          Blueberry

                          Picture
Blueberries are an antioxidant superpower, making them a formidable weapon against free-radicals that can lead to cancer, heart disease, other age-related diseases and the physical signs of ageing.

Anthocyanins (the blue-red pigment that gives the berries their distinctive blue hue) neutralize and prevent free-radical damage, and protect against degradation of structures at the cellular level. They enhance the effects of vitamin C, improve blood vessel and overall vascular integrity, and stabilize the collagen matrix (the ground substance of all bodily tissues). They keep you healthy and fight the many signs of aging both inside and out.

Blueberries also contain pterostilbene (pronounced TARE-oh-STILL-bean), another potent antioxidant, which is already known to fight cancer, and may lower cholesterol.

Studies have also shown that blueberries can help to prevent and reverse age-related memory loss; researchers have not identified the specific agent responsible for the blueberry's memory-improving characteristics, however scientists believe that their antioxidant power plays a role by protecting brain cells from free-radical harm.

                          Blackberry

                          Picture
The Blackberry is known to contain polyphenol antioxidants, naturally occurring chemicals that can upregulate certain beneficial metabolic processes in mammals. The astringent blackberry root is sometimes used in herbal medicine as a treatment for diarrhea and dysentery.

Blackberries are notable for their high nutritional contents of dietary fiber, vitamin C, vitamin K, folic acid (a B vitamin), and the essential mineral, manganese (table).

Blackberries rank highly among fruits for antioxidant strength, particularly due to their dense contents of polyphenolic compounds, such as ellagic acid, tannins, ellagitannins, quercetin, gallic acid, anthocyanins and cyanidins.

Blackberries have an ORAC value (oxygen radical absorbance capacity) of 5347 per 100 grams, including them among the top-ranked ORAC fruits. Another report using a different assay for assessing antioxidant strength placed blackberry at the top of more than 1000 antioxidant foods consumed in the United States.

                          Apricot

                          Picture
Apricots are rich in various food ingredients. The fruit is rich in natural sugars, vitamin A and calcium. It is a good source of the Vitamins, i.e. B Complex, riboflavin and niacin as well as vitamin C.

The apricot is an excellent food remedy for anemia on account of its high content of iron. The small but essential amount of copper in the fruit makes iron available to the body. Liberal use of apricots could also increase the production of hemoglobin in our body.

Research shows that of any food, Apricots possess the highest levels and widest variety of carotenoids. Carotenoids are antioxidants that help prevent heart disease, reduce "bad cholesterol" levels, and protect against cancer. In traditional Chinese medicine, Apricots are considered helpful in regenerating body fluids, detoxifying, and quenching thirst.

Vital Wonderfood includes Apricots in the dried form not including the kernel.

                          Ashwagandha Root

                          Picture
It is often touted as the Indian version of ginseng because, like ginseng, Ashwagandha is revered as a non-specific tonic, an adaptogen that is used alone or as an ingredient in compounds designed to target a variety of conditions.

The plant acts as a mild sedative, an anti-inflammatory and a libido booster. The chemically active ingredients in Ashwagandha, withanolides, appear to have a steroid like effect, meaning that they indirectly increase activity of steroidal hormones like testosterone and progesterone. Because of testosterone's effect on sex drive, this could be what is behind Ashwagandha's purported aphrodisiac effects.

Ashwagandha also relaxes blood vessels and stimulates circulation. Researchers speculate the anti-anxiety action of Ashwagandha stems from something in the herb that mimics gamma-amino-butytric acid (GABA), a naturally occuring substance in the brain whose role is to decrease the effect of stimuli that reach the brain. As with other herbs, expect to take this daily for 2-4 weeks before you begin to feel it's beneficial effects.

                          Fenugreek

                          Picture
Fenugreek bears hard, irregularly shaped seeds, which are used both as a spice and as an herbal medicine. The seeds have a characteristic odor and a somewhat bitter taste. Fenugreek is native to Asia and southeastern Europe.

Fenugreek came from the herbal medicine traditions of the Middle East, India, and Egypt, and later in China and Europe, and was favored as a digestive aid for dyspepsia, intestinal gas, anorexia and diarrhea. It was also used to treat chronic cough, bronchitis, fever, sore throat, and mouth ulcers. Poultices and other external formulations have been used for wounds and skin irritations. Fenugreek's most common modern indications include diabetes and hyperlipidemia.

Fenugreek seeds contain 45-60% carbohydrates (mainly mucilaginous fiber), proteins high in lysine and Iryptophan, 5-10% fixed oils, flavonoids, alkaloids such as Irigonelline, saponins such as fenugreekine, and coumarins.

                          Amla Fruit

                          Picture
Amla Fruits are extremely rich in ascorbic acid or vitamin C, possessing an unusually high volume of up to 1,700 milligrams of vitamin C for every 100 grams of amla fruit juice or pulp. This is thought by some to be one of the highest relative volumes of asorbic acid of any natural fruit on the planet after the Barbadian cherry fruit, known botanically as malapighia glabra.

Amla, or aonla, is used by practitioners of Ayurveda to treat an extremely wide array of ailments from gastrointestinal maladies such as constipation, to water retention, to hair thinning and discoloration, jaundice and cough. Amla is included as one of the three main ingredients in the ancient preparation triphala. Triphala is prescribed for battling dysentery, stomach ache, gas and bloat. Tinctures of the fruit and bark are also used as antiseptics and to reduce the pain of snake and scorpion attacks.

                          Moringa

                          Picture
Moringa oleifera Lam (Moringaceae) is a highly valued plant, distributed in many countries of the tropics and subtropics. It has an impressive range of medicinal uses with high nutritional value.

Different parts of this plant contain a profile of important minerals, and are a good source of protein, vitamins, beta-carotene, amino acids and various phenolics. The Moringa plant provides a rich and rare combination of zeatin, quercetin, beta-sitosterol, caffeoylquinic acid and kaempferol. In addition to its compelling water purifying powers and high nutritional value, Moringa oleifera is very important for its medicinal value. Various parts of this plant such as the leaves, roots, seed, bark, fruit, flowers and immature pods act as cardiac and circulatory stimulants, possess antitumor, antipyretic, antiepileptic, antiinflammatory, antiulcer, antispasmodic, diuretic, antihypertensive, cholesterol lowering, antioxidant, antidiabetic, hepatoprotective, antibacterial and antifungal activities, and are being employed for the treatment of different ailments in the indigenous system of medicine, particularly in South Asia.

                          Acerola

                          Picture
Acerola (Malpighia emarginata DC) is a wild bush grown mainly in Brazil, but also in Mexico, Central America and other South American countries. It has a remarkably high vitamin C content and also contains carotenoids and bioflavonoids, other powerful antioxidants.

A 2008 study reported on the antioxidant activity, ascorbic acid and phenolic content in 10 exotic fruits from Brazil, and found Acerola had one of the highest content of vitamin C and one of the greatest antioxidant activity. As far as additional phytoactives, a 2007 study characterized the anthocyanins in Acerola, reporting it has a high concentration of nonacylated glycosides, one form of anthocyanin and a potent antioxidant. The leaves, bark, and fruit of Acerola were reported to have antifungal properties.

Recent research in cosmetology indicates that vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant and free radical scavenger for the skin, and Acerola extracts are now appearing in skin care products that fight cellular aging. In addition to its vitamin content, Acerola contains mineral salts that have shown to aid in the remineralization of tired and stressed skin, and its mucilage and proteins have skin-hydrating properties and promote capillary conditioning.

                          Camu Camu

                          Picture
Camu Camu is a bush native to the South American rainforest. Its small, purplish red fruits are a rich source of antioxidants and powerful phytochemicals that support and enhance health.

The fruit contains powerful phytochemicals with health benefits, including the amino acids serine, valine, and leucine, and Vitamin C. The Camu Camu fruit is approximately 2 centimetres in diameter and has a purplish red skin with a yellow pulp. Camu Camu fruit contains 30 to 60 times more Vitamin C than an orange. It has astringent, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, emollient and nutritional properties, and also contains important levels of beta carotene, calcium, iron, niacin, phosphorus, riboflavin and thiamin.

Camu Camu is traditionally made into a juice by people of the rainforest to support the immune system, ward off viral infections, and help maintain optimal health, especially under conditions of stress and anxiety, which tend to deplete the immune system. It also contains bioflavenoids, the amino acids, serine, valine, and leucine, as well as important amounts of thiamine, riboflavin and niacin. Camu Camu helps to promote healthy gums, eyes, and skin and supports the functions of the brain (nervous system) and heart (circulatory system).

Traditionally, native medicine practioners and herbalists have recommended Camu Camu for strengthening the immune system, improving symptoms of herpes infections, including mouth blisters, genital blisters, shingles blisters and other viral infections, promoting energy and vitality of people with chronic immune dysfunction, strengthening the nervous system, supporting healthy levels of white blood cell formation, detoxifying the body, especially the liver, promoting health of upper respiratory organs, including lungs, sinuses, nasal passages and promoting a healthy heart and circulatory system.

                          Xylitol

                          Picture
Xylitol is a "tooth friendly" non-fermentable sugar alcohol. Xylitol-based products are allowed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to make the medical claim that they do not promote dental cavities. Possessing approximately 40% less food energy, xylitol is a low-calorie alternative to table sugar. Absorbed more slowly than sugar, it does not contribute to high blood sugar levels or the resulting hyperglycemia caused by insufficient insulin response.

Xylitol has been found to increase the activity of neutrophils, the white blood cells involved in fighting many bacteria.

A recent report suggests that consumption of Xylitol may help control oral infections of Candida yeast; in contrast, galactose, glucose, and sucrose may increase proliferation.

Xylitol is not only safe for pregnant and nursing women, but studies show that regular use significantly reduces the probability of transmitting the Streptococcus mutans bacteria, which is responsible for tooth decay, from mother to child during the first two years of life by as much as 80%.

                          Licorice

                          Picture
Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra) is a flavorful herb that has been used in food and medicinal remedies for thousands of years. Also known as "sweet root," Licorice root contains a compound that is roughly 50 times sweeter than sugar.

Powdered Licorice root is an effective expectorant, and has been used for this purpose since ancient times, especially in Ayurvedic medicine where it is also used in tooth powders. Modern cough syrups often include liquorice extract as an ingredient. Additionally, Licorice may be useful in conventional and naturopathic medicine for both mouth ulcers and peptic ulcers. Licorice is also a mild laxative and may be used as a topical antiviral agent for shingles, ophthalmic, oral or genital herpes. The compound glycyrrhizic acid, found in Licorice, is now routinely used throughout Japan for the treatment and control of chronic viral hepatitis, and its transaminase-lowering effect is clinically well recognized.

In traditional Chinese medicine, Licorice is commonly used in herbal formulae to "harmonize" the other ingredients in the formula and to carry the formula into all 12 of the regular meridians and to relieve a spasmodic cough.

In herbalism it is used in the Hoxsey anti-cancer formula, and is a considered adaptogen which helps reregulate the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis. It can also be used for auto-immune conditions including lupus, scleroderma, rheumatoid arthritis and animal dander allergies.

                          Salep

                          Picture
Salep is also the name of a beverage made from Salep flour, whose popularity spread beyond Turkey and the Middle East to England and Germany. It is a flour made from grinding the dried tubers of Orchis mascula, Orchis militaris and related species of orchids, which contain a nutritious starch-like polysaccharide called glucomannan.

The Ancient Romans also used ground orchid bulbs to make drinks, which they called by a number of names, especially satyrion and priapiscus. As the names indicate, they likewise considered it to be a powerful aphrodisiac.

The most important constituent in Salep is mucilage, amounting to 48%. It also contains 1% of sugar, 2.7% starch, 5% nitrogenous substance and when fresh a trace of volatile oil. It yields 2% of ash, consisting chiefly of phosphates and chlorides of potassium and calcium.

Vital Wonderfood uses Salep which is grown and harvested in a sustainable way.

                          Pomegranate Seed

                          Picture
Pomegranate Seed oil is commonly used in cosmetic products to revitalize dull or mature skin, assist with wrinkles, and to soothe minor skin irritations. Without moisture, wrinkles become more abundant and pronounced, the skin looks tight and lacks luster. Pomegranate seed oil adds moisture, has natural estrogenic properties, anti-oxidants, is anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, improves skin elasticity, and protects the skin. It provides relief from minor skin irritations and inflammation, including dry skin, eczema, psoriasis and sunburned skin. The conjugated fatty acids give it strong anti-inflammatory properties, which help to reduce swelling and ease muscular aches and pains. Pomegranate seed oil is one of the only plant sources of conjugated fatty acids and it contains an abundant amount of punicic acid, a compound closely related to conjugated linoleic acid (CLA). The punicic acid found pomegranate seed oil and has been called a "super CLA" whose effect is even more potent than ordinary CLA. Scientific studies have indicated that it may support the immune system, and help the body fight against human cancers, obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.

Pomegranate Seed oil also contains phytoestrogens, similar to the estrogens naturally produced by the human body. Many women have found that using pomegranate seed oil has helped to ease symptoms associated with menopause and perimenopause, such as mood swings, hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness and diminished libido. To relieve the symptoms of menopause, pomegranate seed oil can be used topically as a skin moisturizer, orally as a dietary supplement, as a massage oil, or as a personal lubricant.

                          Ginger

                          Picture
The characteristic odor and flavor of Ginger is caused by a mixture of zingerone, shogaols and gingerols, volatile oils that compose one to three percent of the weight of fresh Ginger. The gingerols increase the motility of the gastrointestinal tract and have analgesic, sedative, antipyretic and antibacterial properties. Ginger oil has been shown to prevent skin cancer and a study at the University of Michigan demonstrated that gingerols can kill ovarian cancer cells.

The medical form of Ginger historically was called Jamaica Ginger; it was classified as a stimulant and carminative, and used frequently for dyspepsia and colic. It was also frequently employed to disguise the taste of medicines. Ginger may also decrease pain from arthritis and may have blood thinning and cholesterol lowering properties that may make it useful for treating heart disease.

Ginger compounds are active against a form of diarrhea which is the leading cause of infant death in developing countries.

Ginger has been found effective in multiple studies for treating nausea caused by seasickness, morning sickness and chemotherapy. Ginger is a safe remedy for nausea relief during pregnancy.

                          Muscadine Grape Skin

                          Picture
Muscadine Grape seeds contain up to 10 times the antioxidant value of other high-antioxidant foods such as blueberries and cranberries. Compared to other grape seeds, Muscadine grape seeds have 40 times the antioxidants and more Resveratrol - the polyphenol found in red wine and proven to benefit cardiovascular health, blood sugar levels and the aging process, among other health issues. In addition, Muscadine grapes offer a unique combination of phytochemicals and phenolic compounds not found in other grapes, fruits or vegetables, such as Resveratrol, Ellagic Acid, OPCs, and Quercetin.

A Mississippi State University nutritionist reported that a purée of muscadine skins and pulp is an excellent source also of dietary fiber, essential minerals and carbohydrates and is low in fat. Muscadine purée powder has more dietary fiber than oat or rice bran.

As one of nature's richest sources of polyphenolic antioxidants, muscadines have been studied for their potential health benefits which include preliminary evidence for effects against cancer mechanisms. To date, in vitro studies have shown positive effects of muscadine phenolics against blood, colon and prostate cancers.

                          Japanese Knotweed

                          Picture
Science has isolated chemicals in Japanese Knotweed that act as antimicrobials, antioxidants and antimutagens in cancer. Other substances have been shown to heal burns and boost the immune system and heart function. Of particular interest is the plant as a source of reservatrol, the same substance found in red wine that has been shown to promote heart health. In addition, the plant contains emodin and chrysophanol. The three compounds have shown potential to fight tumors and their spread.

In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), the herb is considered to have bitter and "cold" properties. It works to stimulate blood circulation, clear heat and remove toxins.

In TCM, the dried root and stem of Japanese knotweed (hu zhang) has been used to treat cancer, high cholesterol and constipation. It is also used to treat arthritis, painful joints, menstrual complaints, skin sores and traumatic injuries. It is most often used in a formula with other herbs. Because of its astringent and antimicrobial properties, it has been used in skin preparations and massage creams.

                          Cardamom

                          Picture
Green Cardamom in South Asia is broadly used to treat infections in teeth and gums, to prevent and treat throat troubles, congestion of the lungs and pulmonary tuberculosis, inflammation of eyelids and also digestive disorders. It also is used to break up kidney stones and gall stones, and was reportedly used as an antidote for both snake and scorpion venom.

Cardamom is used as a spice and as an ingredient in traditional medicine in systems of the traditional Chinese medicine in China, in Ayurveda in India, Japan, Korea and Vietnam. Cardamom is also used in traditional Indian medicine. Among other species, varieties and cultivars, Cardamom cultivated in China, Laos and Vietnam is used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat stomach-aches, constipation, dysentery, and other digestion problems.

                          Grape Kernel

                          Picture
Human case reports show that Grape Kernel extract may be useful to treat heart diseases such as high blood pressure and high cholesterol. By limiting lipid oxidation, phenolics in grape seeds may reduce risk of heart disease, such as by inhibiting platelet aggregation and reducing inflammation.

A polyphenol contained in Grape Kernel is resveratrol which may interfere with cancer cell growth and proliferation, as well as induce apoptosis, among a variety of potential chemopreventive effects.

Grape Kernel components may also be active against HIV by inhibiting virus expression and replication. Preliminary research shows that grape seed extract may have other possible anti-disease properties, such as in laboratory models of: ● Wound Healing - grape seed proanthocyanidins induced vascular endothelial growth factor and accelerated healing of injured skin; ● Tooth Decay - seed phenolics may inhibit oral sugar metabolism and retard growth of certain bacteria causing dental caries; ● Osteoporosis - grape seed extracts enhanced bone density and strength. ● Skin Cancer - grape seed proanthocyanidins decreased tumor numbers and reduced the malignancy of papillomas. ● Ultraviolet Damage to Skin - dietary proanthocyanidins may protect against carcinogenesis and provide supplementation for sunscreen protection.

Currently, there are four clinical trials underway to assess the effect of Grape Kernel extracts on human breast cancer, blood estrogen levels in postmenopausal women, and coronary artery disease.

                          Cinnamon

                          Picture
Cinnamon is one of the oldest herbal medicines known, having been mentioned in Chinese texts as long as 4,000 years ago. The first medicinal use of cinnamon was in Egypt and parts of Europe as far back as 500 BC.

Cinnamon is often used for medicinal purposes due to its unique properties. These main properties of Cinnamon are astringent, warming stimulant, carminative, antiseptic, antifungal, anti-viral, blood purifier, and digestive aid. All of these properties of Cinnamon make it a good medicinal plant.

Cinnamon has many historical medicinal uses in different cultures. Some of these uses include treatment of diarrhoea, arthritis, menstrual cramps, heavy menstruation, and yeast infections. Traditionally in many cultures Cinnamon was taken as medicine for colds, flu, and digestive problems. Today Cinnamon is used for many of these same traditional reasons. It is often used as a nonessential addition to other remedies, than as a remedy by itself. Often this is because Cinnamon is a stimulant to other herbs and the body, enabling herbal remedies to work faster.

                          Clove

                          Picture
Cloves are used in Indian Ayurvedic medicine, Chinese medicine, and western herbalism and dentistry where the essential oil is used as an anodyne (painkiller) for dental emergencies. Cloves are used as a carminative, to increase hydrochloric acid in the stomach and to improve peristalsis. The essential oil is used in aromatherapy when stimulation and warming are needed, especially for digestive problems. Topical application over the stomach or abdomen are said to warm the digestive tract. The use of a Clove in toothache is also said to decrease pain. It also helps to decrease infection in the teeth due to its antiseptic properties. Clove oil, applied to a cavity in a decayed tooth, also relieves toothache.

In Chinese medicine Cloves or ding xiang are considered acrid, warm and aromatic, entering the kidney, spleen and stomach meridians, and are notable in their ability to warm the middle, direct stomach qi downward, to treat hiccough and to fortify the kidney yang. Clove oil is used in various skin disorders like acne, pimples etc. It is also used in severe burns, skin irritations and to reduce the sensitiveness of skin.

Ayurvedic herbalist K.P. Khalsa, RH (AHG), uses Cloves internally as a tea and topically as an oil for hypotonic muscles, including for multiple sclerosis. This is also found in Tibetan medicine.

In West Africa, the Yorubas use Cloves infused in water as a treatment for stomach upsets, vomiting and diarrhea. The infusion is called Ogun Jedi-jedi.

Western studies have supported the use of Cloves and Clove oil for dental pain. Clove may reduce blood sugar levels.

                          Rhododendron Caucasicum Leaf

                          Picture
Natives of the Georgia Republic have long been aware of the healthful properties of tea brewed from the young, spring leaves of Rhododendron Caucasicum, a polyphenol-rich evergreen, also known as snow rose, that grows high in the Caucasian Mountains.

Apart from its antioxidant benefits, extracts from the young leaves of this particular species of Rhododendron Caucasicum provide the same lipase inhibiting powers that today's fat-blocking diet pills do, but without binding with fat or removing fat-soluble vitamins.

Abundant polyphenols, naturally present in the young leaves of Rhododendron Caucasicum, specifically inhibit the action of the lipase enzyme while safely preventing the uptake of fat.

Scientific studies conducted at Moscow State University showed that when lipase is inhibited through the use of Rhododendron Caucasicum, about 15-20 percent more fat is passed through the digestive tract to be excreted, leading to weight loss ranging from 5-25 pounds over a three-month period.

                          Vanilla

                          Picture
In old medicinal literature, Vanilla is described as an aphrodisiac and a remedy for fevers. These purported uses have never been scientifically proven, but it has been shown that Vanilla does increase levels of catecholamines (including epinephrine, more commonly known as adrenaline).

In an in-vitro test Vanilla was able to block quorum sensing in bacteria. This is medically interesting because in many bacteria quorum sensing signals function as a switch for virulence. The microbes only become virulent when the signals indicate that they have the numbers to resist the host immune system response.

The essential oils of vanilla and vanillin are sometimes used in aromatherapy.

                          Saffron

                          Picture
Some independent studies suggest that the use of Saffron have beneficial effects on enhancing memory. Some medical research demonstrates the beneficial properties and activities of Saffron such as memory enhancing, anti-cancer and antioxidant properties.

Saffron contains carotenoids and medical studies have proven to show that it helps in enhancing oxygen diffusivity in the plasma and other liquids while improving pulmonary oxygenation. The carotenoids in Saffron are known to inhibit skin tumors and improve arthritis in various independent medical studies. The numerous active constituents in saffron are also known to bring about a positive effect on people with neurodegenerative disorders and memory impairment.

Massaging the gums with Saffron helps in reducing soreness and inflammation of the mouth and the tongue.
